Excel Diamonds uses both session cookies and persistent cookies to gather information on our website. A session cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. (Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site.) We use session ID cookies such as liveperson. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. By setting a cookie on our site, users would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site. Baruch Gutwein Diamonds, Inc. uses personal information provided by the user to contact him/her regarding their request for information about merchandise offered for sale on our Website and to fulfill orders placed by users for such merchandise.

We request information from the user on our order form. Contact information is used solely for order processing and Fulfillment. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.
When a customer fills out an order an email will be sent to them by email address designated by them in the information field. This email will contain their order number in which they can use to track their order.

When our order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just ‘surfing’.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Periodically, we will send our registered users and customers, e-mail advertisements for certain jewelry specials, promotions, and company news. When you sign up for our mailing list , we collect your e-mail address to use in one of our future mailings notifying you of these updates. These promotions are designed to highlight different storewide or product sales we are running for a limited time only. We use an credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. We use Fedex , UPS, and U.S. Post Office to ship client merchandise.
Tell-A-Friend
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. ExcelDiamonds stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at sales@exceldiamonds.com to request that we remove this information from our database.
Testimonials
We post customer testimonials on our web site which may contain personally identifiable information such as the customer's name. We do obtain the customer's consent prior to to posting the testimonial to post their name along with their testimonial" is more appropriate. Testimonials aren't considered public forums in the way discussion and message boards are. This more in line with choice around posting PII as in the case of an online directory. In the privacy statement we want consumers to understand the site does obtain consent.
Customer Service
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.
Sharing
We do not share our client information with other organizations except for the information required to complete our normal business transactions. This means that we do not sell or rent our clients personal/private information to any third parties for their promotional purposes.
